Frodo: Placerville, CA, United States; I am from a part of England known as the Shire or “Merry Old England” because...... that is where all hobbits are from. “Mooooom!Do we live in the Shire?” ........ “No, Frodo, we live in California” ........... “Hummmmph!” A few facts about hobbits: • Fattish in the stomach, shortish in the legs, hair is short, brown and curling; • Enjoy 7 meals a day, not including snacks. “Mom, are you listening?”; • Like simple food such as bread, meat, potatoes, cheese and acorns (“I added the acorns”); • Average life expectancy of 100 years; • Enjoy smoking “pipe-weed”; • Like to give away gifts on their birthday instead of receiving them. (“I gave Mom one of my potatoes”); • Some Hobbits live in "hobbit-holes", which were the original places where they dwelt underground. (“I’m working on one in the couch”); • They are shy creatures, but capable of amazing things. Some famous Hobbits: Frodo Baggins; Bilbo Baggins; Samwise "Sam" Gamgee; Meriadoc "Merry" Brandybuck; Peregrin "Pippin" Took; Fredegar "Fatty" Bolger; And last but not least the infamous Sméagol aka Gollum. I'm glad they didn't name me Gollum!
